Classification: Nonexempt, Regular, “At Will” Work Status Reports To: Owner
Status: Part-time

Schedule: We are a 24/7 365 facility. Candidates must be available weekends, holidays and overnights.

Since 2006 Camp Jimmydog LLC has provided the Tucson area with cage free, home style boarding at our beautiful and comfortable home/dog camp southeast of Tucson. We are a B&B style boarding facility free of the kennels, runs and overcrowding that promote stress, unwanted behaviors and overstimulation. We pride ourselves on the relationships we form and personal care we provide for our guests and their people. Our clients dogs are welcomed into our home and loved and cared for as our own. We ensure that that everyone, from puppies to seniors, receive the care, activity level and individual attention that they require and deserve. We provide space to quietly relax as well as room to run, play and explore, all in a comfortable, safe, fun, home environment. If they sleep in their owners bedroom at home, they will sleep in ours.

Full Job Description

Position Summary:

The Dog Attendant is a positive, efficient, detail-oriented multi-tasker. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to take direction and work independently. We are looking for a motivated individual that not only loves dogs but possesses the natural ability to work with a pack of dogs and communicate well with their humans. The Dog Attendant must juggle and prioritize multiple activities, and manage unforeseen events as they happen. Therefore, must be extremely organized and detail oriented. The right candidate will be able to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, and play an integral part in the future growth of our company.

We LOVE dogs and enjoy a fun, friendly and comfortable environment, spending our nights in our pj’s cuddling with our sleepover guests. However, this position is much more than just playing with dogs.

This position will support our Live-in Manager at our new Vail location though you may occasionally be needed to assist at our Sahuarita location as well.
There is room for growth in this position as our business grows. Hours may be minimal to start. Flexibility in scheduling is important.

With the right candidate, this position will grow as we grow.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • This position requires focused supervision of dogs at all times.

  • Managing and controlling groups and levels of play, activities and rest, using appropriate dog handling

    techniques, praise, redirection and correction methods

  • Observe, note and share with Manager and team, any health or behavioral concerns

  • Feeding, bathing, nail trims M

  • Making sure everyone gets plenty of individual attention

  • Administer medications

  • This position interacts with customers, additional team members and reports to the Live-in Manager.

  • You will assist with new customer Meet & Greets, new dog evaluations, check ins, check outs and

    bookings

  • Extensive cleaning both indoors and out as well as laundry and trash.

  • Assist in maintaining property and equipment

  • Taking photos and videos to support social media and customer updates

    Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: This is a physically demanding position

  • Sitting 20%

  • Standing/walking 80%

  • Minimum lifting requirement 70 pounds.

  • Must be able to walk/control dogs up to 140 pounds

  • Indoor and outdoor setting year-round (It gets HOT here!)

  • Hearing Must be able to hear telephonic equipment and comfortably communicate with clients

    and others by telephone and in person

  • Near Vision – The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) as required

    for business software, and operating office machines

    Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of 3 years dog training/handling/behavioral experience at professional level or at a personal level if extensive and with multiple dogs. Preferably including multiple dog situations

  • Computer literate. Comfortable and able to learn and use various software, apps and photo programs as well as Gmail
